Violet Pictures is a production and distribution company founded in 2022. Co-founder James reached out and asked for our help to create a digital showcase for their range of award-winning films.
Violet Pictures has films in various stages of completeness and there needed a clear distinction between those films still in development to those in production. We worked closely with James, helping to build a better understanding of what was needed and providing a fresh perspective on the site.
The project aim:
Showcase the films to represent the range of work Violet Pictures carries out within the industry.
Introduction
We were asked to help with the Violet Pictures site after working together with James previously on another venture, the Folkestone Documentary Festival website. The original site was running on WordPress but was set up several years before and had no ongoing development support.
The team were able to do basic changes but it was too restrictive as well as not being able to elevate the visuals that accompany the films, as well as calling out the various stages during each film's release.
So what did we do
Working with James at Violet Pictures, we created a project specification to work from
- Set up Prismic CMS, and use custom templates. Doing this makes the process of page creation and content updates as simple as possible
- Ensure that the site was set up for success by implementing the best quality code for great performance, SEO, accessibility and Best Practices.
- Create branding - using the Logo as a base, our client gave us a brief of the vision, and we built out to create new branding for the full site
- Create a Film showcase where details, where the posters, stills and trailers could be embedded and shared in a consistent format.
Juniper have built two websites for me over the last year, Folkestone Doc Fest and Violet Pictures Documentaries and their attention to detail, quick responses to email and having a willingness to always go above and beyond has made the process rewarding.
